Privacy notice

What we collect

When you use the Say hello form, or give your details to download one of our guides, DigiHwy Certainty receives your name, email address, organisation (if you give one), the kind of enquiry you picked, your message, and whether you were on our Malaysian or Singaporean site. That is the whole list.

We do not use analytics tools or third-party trackers on this site at present, we do not run advertising, and we do not sell data or build profiles of you from other sources.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, or to send you the guide you asked for. Enquiries are read by our team and answered by a person. If a conversation becomes a project, the same details are used to set that project up.

What happens when you press send

First, the form is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check that usually runs without you noticing. To do that, Cloudflare processes a one-time token from your browser along with your IP address. Cloudflare also hosts and serves this website.

Second, we limit how many messages one network can send in a minute. The limit is keyed on a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, never the address itself, and the count is thrown away within minutes.

Then your details are emailed, through Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Graph), to the DigiHwy Certainty partnerships inbox, and an automatic acknowledgement goes back to the email address you gave us so you know it arrived. The acknowledgement does not repeat your message.

The website itself does not store your submission in a database. The only copy is the email in our company mailbox, which is hosted by Microsoft.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets three small first-party cookies, all about which regional site to show you. dhc_region remembers whether you chose the Malaysian or Singaporean site, so we do not ask again on your next visit (it lasts a year). dhc_geo remembers which region we suggested based on the country your connection comes from (it also lasts a year, and holds only a two-letter code). dhc_bar_dismissed remembers that you closed the region suggestion bar, and disappears when you close your browser.

Our guides also save one setting in your browser's local storage, dhc-explain-mode, so the "explain it to me" reading mode stays as you left it. It never leaves your device.

None of these are used for advertising or tracking, and none of them identify you.

Other services your browser talks to

Our fonts are served by Google Fonts, and images come from our content platform's image service (Sanity). Like any web request, those services see your IP address and browser details when they send the file. We do not use them to track you.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted, unless you become a client or we need to keep them for legal or accounting reasons. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner. Client project data is governed by the agreement we sign with that client, and in every case the client owns their data outright.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Write to us and we will action it, normally within 21 days. No form, no ticketing hoop.

The law we follow

We handle personal data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012. In plain words: we only collect what we need, we tell you why, we keep it safe, we do not keep it longer than we need to, and you can see, correct or withdraw it.

Some of the services above (Cloudflare, Microsoft, Google and Sanity) may process data outside Malaysia and Singapore. We choose providers that commit to protecting it properly, and we share with them only what each one needs to do its job.

Client data

Where we build and host systems for an organisation, that organisation is the controller of its own data and we act on its instructions. Source code, hosting accounts and data sit in the client's name.
